Our natural Gut is designed with the philosophy that they should have very high performance that remains reasonably consistent throughout their playing life, while exhibiting good wear resistance. The basic story of natural gut
Although natural gut string manufacturers prefer to think otherwise, the raw material is a by-product of the meat industry and comes from a variety of animals including the intestines of sheep, cattle, kangaroo, and water buffalo.
Why is Natural Gut so good for string?
Nature provided this extraordinary muscle and collagen sheath to strengthen the intestine. It's ability to expand dramatically to accommodate a big meal and then shrink back after the food is digested and passed on is what makes natural gut ideal for racquet string. Because it was forced to do such a complex job, the beef intestine evolved into a very sophisticated structure. Comprised mainly of collagen fibers oriented in different directions this membrane has tremendous strength and elasticity.

Introduction
There is no single factor that makes it stand out, in fact you can get better individual characteristics from a variety of materials. It is how well it melds them all together that makes it special.

Control: Natural gut gives the impression of loading up slowly, and accelerating the ball smoothly. Players say the ball stays on the racquet longer. Some report that it "cups" the ball better. Comfort: If you love to play a sport, time permitting you will play it a lot. As every athlete knows this will leave you vulnerable to overuse injuries. We all realize that hitting a tennis ball takes a toll on our bodies, sometimes this is simply fatigue, and sometimes it is more serious.
Performance life: Top players do not judge durability on how long it takes for a string to break. They watch how long it plays well. Natural gut has an internal structure that is very elastic.

When even an inexpensive string will cost $30 or more including the cost of stringing, how many sets can you cut out before you pass the cost of natural gut? How durable is natural gut?
There are two types of durability we should talk about; resistance to breakage, and performance life. Most synthetic strings are very tough, have a very high tensile strength, and normally are significantly more break resistant. However, gut has a different set of elasticity characteristics, which makes it resist fatigue much better. Typically, natural gut has a much longer performance life, in fact they usually play well up to the time they break. Synthetic gut strings will normally lose performance very rapidly, but will stay in the racquet without breakage for a very long time.

How do Natural Guts Differ?
The quality of their raw materials, the number of plies and how many twists, plus the quality of their internal bonding, the amount of damage that was done by chemical processing, the type of coating, and physical properties like resilience, tensile strength and abrasion resistance. In other words they can be as different as black and white.
How does natural gut compare to synthetics?
Synthetic strings are made from a wide variety of materials with an even larger number of construction techniques. The collagen triple helix gives natural gut a balance of characteristics that provide excellent feel, power and control while absorbing many of the shocks and vibrations that are often blamed for arm and shoulder problems. Synthetics can be engineered to excel in some, or even most of these characteristics, but to date none have it all.
